21-0512 Lamps Within the Material Petal Scope

The Institute would like to clarify the inclusion of light lamps within the material's vetting scope.

The LBC Materials Petal Handbook currently states:

Project teams are required to vet and track permanently installed building products, office Systems Furniture, task seating, all hardwired and hard-piped equipment and appliances, and equipment and appliances with a dedicated electrical circuit or rated power of 220v or higher.

Therefore, all lighting systems, including the lamps, that are hardwired are within the materials vetting scope and must meet all relevant Materials Petal requirements. Furthermore, if the system is required to make an in-scope fixture function (e.g. a bulb), the system is to be considered in scope.
