How to Change Your Project's Name

If your project is registered, but not yet certified:
  • In your project's application in Portal, change the "Submission Name" field and any other fields that ask for project name to the most up-to-date project name. This will update the project name throughout Portal. Automated emails triggered after the name change should include the new project name. If the previous project name shows up after these changes are made, please contact lbc.certification@living-future.org.
  • Notify ILFI of the name change; this will allow us to manually update any collateral outside of Portal.
If your project is already certified:
  • In your project's application in Portal, change the "Submission Name" field and any other fields that ask for project name to the most up-to-date project name. This will update the project name throughout Portal for any future reporting and referencing.  If the previous project name shows up after these changes are made, please contact lbc.certification@living-future.org.
  • Notify ILFI of the name change; this will allow us to manually update any collateral outside of Portal.
What ILFI will do once you notify us of a project name change:

When you notify ILFI of the name change, we can execute the following changes immediately (or within a few business days):

  • If your project was certified outside of Portal (i.e. before Portal was launched), we can reissue the Final Audit Report (i.e. the pdf) with the new project name.
  • If your project is certified and has a case study on our website, we can update the case study to include the new project name.
Please note that it will take us a little bit longer to:
  • Update the project name in any ILFI-produced collateral, such as educational materials, resources, and slide decks.  As these resources are managed by multiple teams and people, it will take us longer to track down all the instances of where the previous project name is mentioned.
