15-0925 v3.0/Biophilia Work Session or Sessions?
QUESTION
We understand that there are many topics to cover within the Biophilia plan and scope of work. We will dedicate time to each topic and that time will add up to at least 8 hours of total meeting time dedicated to biophilia alone. However, we would like for the topic to be a dedicated agenda item during our many integrated design work sessions so that all of the team members and project disciplines will have the opportunity to incorporate biophilia influences into their work. We also have an incredibly compressed design schedule and the team will never all be in one room for 8 hours at a time for any of our work sessions.
We want to be sure that it is alright to break a full 8 hour day-long biophilia worksession up into smaller chunks of time over time, assuming we can show meeting records and a plan that meets all of the requirements. During the time allocated for Biophilia, the only topics that will be discussed will be those related to the biophilia goals, solutions and plan.
ANSWER
It has come to our attention that the initial response below did not ensure a sufficiently concentrated focus on the opportunities for and benefits of biophilic design for each project. The intent is for the Biophilic Design Exploration to transform both the design process and direction, not for it to be integrated into a typical design process. To address this intent, the first sentence has been amended:

It is acceptable to break the Biophilia charrette into two or more meetings of at least four hours each, for a minimum total of eight hours of time.
3/17/2016 Revised Text: It is acceptable to break the Biophilia charrette into two or more meetings of at least four hours each, for a minimum total of eight hours of time. For continuity, each project discipline must be represented at each meeting, and the meetings must be of sufficient length to allow for deep exploration of the topic. Teams that elect to break the charrette up across multiple days must be meticulous about their tracking of the incorporation of biophilic elements into the project.
