Resubmitting a Declare Label with Updates


After submitting your Declare label, you will be given the opportunity to review the submission before Living Future publishes the label to the Declare database. On other occasions, the Living Future team may request that you make a change or update a field within your submission, such as updating your certification documents, applying a more current product image, or correcting a CASRN entered with a typo. While the label is still within the Submission or Shared With Manufacturer stages, you are able to make changes to your submission. This guidance will walk you through how to resubmit your label for Living Future to review after it has already been submitted. 


Please note, after a label is published, any additional changes may incur a mid-cycle update fee. 


Resubmitting a Submitted Declare Label

You will begin by logging into 3E Exchange and selecting My Publications from the left menu. Find the label that needs to be updated within My Publications and select the hyperlinked label name.

Clicking on the hyperlink will take you to the Publications tab of the product housed within My Products. It is also possible to reach this page by going to My Products, selecting the product that needs to be updated, and then scrolling down the product’s menu to Publications.


From this page, you will see a list of the product’s Declare publication history. Publications that have the Published, Draft, or Archived status are submissions with data that is not currently being reviewed by the Living Future team. Therefore, please ensure you product you’re reviewing has a row with a status of Submitted for Publication or Shared with Manufacturer.

Once you are sure you have selected the product you are looking to update and resubmit, it is safe to visit and edit the BOM, General Information, or Declare Label Data sections of the label’s menu to make the necessary updates. 


After those updates have been made, select the blue Submit Declare Label button from the top menu. 

This will take you back through the Submit Declare Label workflow. 

Follow the workflow steps, ensuring any edits made previously have taken effect. Then once you have reached the Submit step of the workflow, select Submit Declare Label to ILFI and then Submit for Approval from the drop-down menu. 

We recommend informing the Living Future team of any changes that you’ve made when resubmitting the label with updates so that we can verify the changes took effect. 


If you have selected the correct product to resubmit with updates, the label will be sent to Living Future without prompting you for payment. Congratulations, you’ve completed the update process, and the Living Future team will follow up with any next steps or a preview of your label to approve for publication!


If you are prompted to make a payment, please ensure that you have selected a label that has either been shared for approval or submitted for publication. A prompt for payment indicates that the label has already been published or has not yet been submitted. 


Resubmitting a Declare Label that has been Shared for Approval

After the Living Future team has reviewed your Declare submission and determined it is ready for publication, they will share it for final approval. You will receive an email from the 3E team informing you that your label is ready for review. The email will include a hyperlink bringing you to the approval page of your Declare label.


You will be able to preview your draft label from this page, allowing you to ensure all the data reported on the label is accurate. If you find that something needs to be corrected, select Resubmit With Updates at the top of the page.

3E will take you to the end of the Declare submission workflow, where you are prompted to Submit Declare Label to ILFI. Instead, select Preview.

This will take you to a preview of the Declare label with a simple BOM below it. From this page, select Edit Source Data

This takes you to the Publications menu of the product within My Products, where you are now safe to visit and edit the BOM, General Information, or Declare Label Data sections of the label’s menu to make the necessary updates. 


After those updates have been made, select the blue Submit Declare Label button from the top menu. Then you can follow the Declare submission workflow and submit the Declare label for approval as detailed in the previous section.
