Continuing Education Credit

How can I offer LFA credit for my course or event?

Now that LFA is a lifetime credential, the LFA Foundational and General credit designations have been retired and are no longer issued by Living Future or any other education provider. Living Future does not operate a CEU provider program.

Can I earn continuing education credit through Living Future online courses?

Yes! The majority of our online courses are either AIA LU|Elective or AIA LU|HSW approved. Be sure to check the course details to verify whether and what type of AIA credit is offered.

Upon completing a Living Future online course, you will receive an email containing a link to an AIA credit request form. If you are an AIA member, please use this form to submit your AIA member number. We will then report your course completion to AIA on your behalf.

AIA policy requires reporting within 10 business days of course completion. To avoid violating this policy, please be sure to complete the AIA credit request form as soon as possible after completing your course. Living Future cannot guarantee that AIA LUs will be awarded for late-reported coursework.

If you are not an AIA member but wish to count your coursework toward continuing education requirements for other credentialing bodies, please use your certificate of completion for self-reporting. Please visit this FAQ if you need help obtaining your certification of completion.

Can I earn continuing education credit through Member CEU Webinars?

Of course! All Member CEU Webinars are either AIA LU|Elective or AIA LU|HSW approved. You will receive an AIA credit request form via email after the event. Upon providing your AIA member number through the form, your attendance will be reported on your behalf within 10 business days.

You must attend the full duration of the webinar in order to earn AIA credit. AIA credit is not awarded for webinar recordings.

If you’d like a certificate of completion so you can self-report the event to any other accreditation bodies, please visit this FAQ.

Can I earn continuing education credit at the Living Future Conference?

Yes. Nearly all breakout sessions at Living Future 2026 are approved for continuing education credit through the American Institute of Architects (AIA). You can view the conference schedule and AIA-approved sessions here. Mainstage plenaries, tours, and other special events are not eligible for credit.

Living Future records attendance for individuals who sign the AIA attendance sheet at each session. Reporting is completed within 10 business days after the conference. If a session or credits are missing from your AIA CES transcript after that time (or if you missed a sign-in sheet), contact us at education@living-future.org. for support. Credits cannot be guaranteed for sessions that were not properly recorded.

If you need documentation of your participation, you may request an attendance record or certificate by emailing your session list to education@living-future.org.

Can Living Future education contribute to the maintenance of my LEED credential?

To earn credit toward the maintenance of your LEED credential, you will need to self-report GBCI CE hours for Living Future education in accordance with GBCI's credit reporting guidance. Please visit this FAQ if you need help obtaining a certificate of completion.
