IAQ in Owner Occupied Residences 3.x
QUESTION: Due to unexpected construction delays, and restrictions on alternate housing, the initial IAQ testing could not be scheduled post-construction and pre-occupancy for our single-family home. Because the testing is largely to establish a baseline, please clarify whether an extension would be considered shortly post-occupancy to conduct the initial IAQtesting.
ANSWER: For owner occupied residences, it is acceptable to perform the initial IAQ test within the first month of occupancy when circumstances have caused occupancy to overlap with the end of construction. In that case, teams should take extra precaution to limit any dust or fumes from the final construction tasks that might impact occupant health.
