Projects that do not store any janitorial products onsite or within the project boundary are not required to provide a janitor’s closet with dedicated exhaust. Products used by a cleaning service and any products on site for incidental cleaning must still carry the EPA Safer Choice label.  

To demonstrate that onsite storage for janitorial products is unnecessary, teams must provide evidence of cleaning services, such as a cleaning contract with an outside party, or campus policies for janitorial services, including any requirements for the cleaning products.
